What participants have shared

A mix of responses from across the three programmes, gathered between March and April 2026.

AC

Adrian Chan

Finance Manager · Kwun Tong

"I had been paying MPF contributions for sixteen years and genuinely didn't understand the difference between the funds I was in. The Foundations course changed that completely. It was the first time anyone had explained the fees in a way that made sense to me."

MPF Foundations · April 2026

SW

Serena Wong

Operations Director · Tsim Sha Tsui

"I joined the Consolidation Workshop after sitting on the idea for about two years. I had MPF with three previous employers and kept putting it off because the process seemed complicated. The course made it manageable — not simple exactly, but something I could actually do."

BL

Benjamin Lee

Senior Engineer · Kowloon Bay

"The pace of the Lifetime Strategy Programme was about right — substantial enough to require real engagement, but it didn't take over my evenings. The personal plan document at the end was more useful than I expected. I've referred back to it twice since finishing."

Lifetime Strategy · February 2026

JM

Julia Mok

Secondary School Teacher · Wan Chai

"What I appreciated most was that nobody tried to sell me anything. I've been to bank seminars on retirement planning and always felt slightly uncomfortable by the end. This was just information — calm, explained well, without an agenda."

MPF Foundations · March 2026

MK

Martin Kwok

IT Project Manager · Tuen Mun

"The group calls in the Consolidation Workshop were the part I wasn't sure about beforehand, but they turned out to be the most valuable sessions. Hearing other people work through similar questions helped me think more clearly about my own situation."

Consolidation Workshop · April 2026

CY

Christine Yip

Accountant · Central

"I work in accounting and still found the fee explanation in Week 3 genuinely clarifying. I knew fees existed; I hadn't thought carefully about what they accumulate to over twenty years. That week alone changed how I look at the annual statement."

MPF Foundations · April 2026

RH

Raymond Ho

Sales Director · Sha Tin

"I did the Lifetime Strategy Programme after completing the Consolidation Workshop six months earlier. Taking them in sequence made sense — each one built on what I'd already worked through. The review meeting at the end of the Strategy Programme was a good use of an hour."

Lifetime Strategy · January 2026

NT

Nancy Tsang

Nurse Manager · New Territories

"I found the account tracking worksheet in the Foundations course immediately practical. I had two previous employer accounts I hadn't done anything with. Having a clear format to gather and compare the information made the next step much less daunting."

MPF Foundations · March 2026

PC

Paul Chan

Architect · Kowloon City

"The Lifetime Strategy Programme covered the estate angle of MPF, which I hadn't thought about at all. Understanding that MPF doesn't automatically fall under a will, and what the options are, was new to me. Worth knowing before the question becomes urgent."

Participant journeys

Three cases drawn from feedback, illustrating different starting points and what participants took from the experience.

Case · Foundations

Starting point

A logistics manager in her early 40s who had been in the same MPF scheme for eleven years without ever selecting a fund — she had defaulted into the MPF Conservative Fund when she joined and hadn't changed since.

Through the course

She learned how Conservative Fund returns relate to inflation, how to compare funds using the fee and performance data available, and what a reallocation would involve practically.

Outcome

She made an informed decision about her fund mix at the end of the four weeks — not prompted by us, but on her own reading of the materials. That was exactly the point.

Case · Consolidation

Starting point

A corporate lawyer who had changed employers four times in fifteen years and had MPF balances with three different trustees. He wasn't sure whether consolidating was worth the administrative effort.

Through the course

He worked through the Employee Choice Arrangement process, compared fees across the three schemes, and used the worksheet to record total balances and current allocations for the first time.

Outcome

He decided to consolidate two of the three accounts. His reasoning was documented in his own worksheet, which meant he could explain the decision to his wife clearly — something he valued.

Case · Lifetime Strategy

Starting point

A doctor in her late 40s who felt she had a reasonable handle on MPF basics but wanted to think through the interaction with her personal investments and eventual withdrawal over a longer horizon.

Through the course

The programme's estate module and phased withdrawal sessions were the most useful for her. She completed the personal plan document with detailed notes at each facilitator review point.

Outcome

She left with a structured document she described as "the first place I can point to that shows what I actually think about retirement." She has since enrolled her husband in the Foundations course.
